Our Need for God

Mankind’s greatest need stems from his own inability to be right with God. The age old question was asked in Job 9:2 and 25:4, How can a man be right with God? That answer is not found in philosophy, the wisdom of man, or even in religion. The only one qualified to answer that question is God Himself.

Man in his own search to be right with God has fallen short. God says, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). God also tells us, “There is none righteous, no not one” in Romans 3:10. However, the good news is that God is not hiding from us, but has revealed Himself and His will to us through His son, Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16). God also tells us that He demonstrated His love toward us that . . . “even while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

This means that God gave Jesus so that we can be right with God. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). When God the Father tells us that Jesus is mankind’s answer, He also tells us how to receive Him. God said, “If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved! For whosoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved!” (Romans 10:9, 13). The Bible defines receiving Jesus into our lives as:

The next question you should ask yourself is: Has there ever been a time I asked Jesus Christ, the son of God, to be Lord and Savior of my life? If not, there will never be a better time than today! Stop right now and ask yourself these questions: Do I want to know God and be right with Him? Do I want to spend eternity in Heaven with Him? I believe that the answer to both of those questions for you is, YES! You can pray this prayer right where you are and receive Jesus Christ into your life today!

Salvation Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
I come to You in the name of Jesus. I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe that He died for me and that He was raised from death so that I could be right with You. I now confess Jesus as my Lord. Because Your Word says, that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13), I thank You I am saved! Thank You for receiving me and for forgiving me of all my past sins. I am now Your child and I ask You to show me what Your plan is for my life. Thank you, Lord, for loving me!
