2 Things That Must Change

In this blog, I want to talk about two important things that need to change in every believer’s life. These two things are our thoughts and words. Once we are saved, if we don’t change our thoughts and our words, not much else will change in our lives. As powerful as salvation is to our eternal being and destiny, if we don’t change these two important things, then not much else will change in our lives.

Everything begins with thoughts. So to change you, you have to change your thoughts or how you think. Romans 12:2 tells us, our lives are transformed or changed by the renewing of our minds or by a new way of thinking. What new way you may ask? Thinking in line with the Word of God and what God says about us. Ephesians 4:23 AMP, says, be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind, having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude. We find this new attitude comes from God’s Word and us thinking about it. We must understand this, without thinking right, you won’t believe right, and without believing right, you won’t talk right. We find believing and speaking are both necessary ingredients to us receiving from God.

So let’s now talk about the importance of our words. Proverbs 18:21 tells us death and life are in the power of our tongues. That means we can speak death to our life or we can speak life to it by how we talk, by how we use our words. Jesus said in Matthew 12:37 MSG., words are powerful take them seriously, words can be your salvation, words can also be your damnation. That means we are either justified or condemned by our words. What’s the message? Our words have power! Lastly James 3:5 MSG. says, a word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything or destroy it.

Whether we like it or not, our words frame our world. We are either freed by our words or bound by them. So let’s begin to make thinking and speaking right part of our daily lives
