The Will of God Part 2

One of the most important subjects God want us to understand is His will. In this blog I want to pick up where I left off in Part 1 and look at four things that God’s Word tells us is His will for our lives.

Salvation

Salvation is part of God’s will and plan for your life! 1 Timothy 2:4 tells us, who will all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 2 Peter 3:9 tells us, God is not willing that any should be lost, but that all should come to repentance. Romans 10:13, tell us, for whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved. Whosoever would include anyone that wants Jesus to be their Lord. In John 6:37 Jesus said; …and him that comes to Me I will not reject.  To learn how to make Jesus your Lord, check out Our Need for God in the About Us section on the home page.

 Healing

One reason we know healing is the will of God is because it is part of God’s plan of redemption. Whatever we see Jesus dying for, He dies to redeem us from. Psalms 103:2-3 tells us; …forget no all God’s benefits: who forgives all our sins; who heals all our disease. Jesus not only dies to forgive us of our sins but to heal us of our disease as well. 1 Peter 2:24; Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes you were healed. Remember as I said in Part 1, Jesus life and ministry was both a revelation and a manifestation of the will of God. In Acts 10:38 it says how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him. It is important for us to understand, Jesus healing the sick then was a revelation of the will of God for you and I now.

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit

Being filled with the Holy Spirit is the will of God for every believer. God’s gift to the world is Jesus Christ but His gift to His church is the Holy Spirit, and he wants every believer to be filled with the Holy Spirit. In Ephesians 5:17-18 we are reminded being filled with the Holy Spirit is part of God’s will for us. Jesus told His disciples that they would receive power from on high when filled with the Holy Spirit, Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4, 5,8; as it is part of God’s plan to empower us to continue to do His work.

Being part of a Life Giving Church

Being active in a local church is the will of God for every believer’s life. Jesus illustrated this in His own life as Luke 4:16 tells us it was His custom, habit, or something He always did. In other words going to church was an important part of Jesus life. In Revelation chapters 2 & 3 we see 7 letters written to seven churches revealing God’s love for, approval of, care for, and direction to these local churches. Today, like then, God wants us to understand He not only loves His church but we each have a place in it. Lastly Hebrews 10:25 leaves us no doubt about this as we are told to not neglect the assembling of ourselves together. It actually tells us to do it more as we see the day of the Lord return draw nearer.

These are four important things we should understand are part of God’s will for our lives. Receive them and walk in them and be blessed!
