The Scriptures
WE BELIEVE the Bible is the inspired Word
of God, the product of holy men of old who
spoke and wrote as they were moved by the
Holy Spirit. The New Covenant, as recorded
in the New Testament, we accept as our
infallible guide in matters pertaining to
conduct and doctrine ( II Timothy 3:16; l
Thessalonians 2:13 ; l Peter 1: 23-25; II
Peter 1: 21).
The Virgin Birth
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is God’s
Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of
the virgin Mary (Genesis 3:15; Isaiah 7: 14;
9:6; Matthew 1:18-23; Luke 1:35; 2:21).
The God Head
WE BELIEVE there is one true Godhead
comprised of the Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit. All are co-equal and co-eternal
(John 1:1; 14,18; 15:26; 16:28; Matthew
28:19; l John 5:7).
Man, His Fall, and Redemption
WE BELIEVE man is a created being, made
in the likeness and image of God, but
through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin
came onto the world. “All have sinned and
come short of the glory of God’. “As it is
written, there is none righteous, no not
one.” Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was
manifested to undo the work of the devil and
gave His life and shed His blood to redeem
and restore man back to God (Romans 5:12-21;
3:23-24; I John 3:8). Salvation is the gift
of God to man separate from works and the
law, and is made operative by grace through
faith in Jesus Christ, producing works
acceptable to God (Ephesians 2:8).
The Blood of Jesus Christ
WE BELIEVE that the blood of Jesus Christ
cleanses all believers from sin and that it
is through the blood that believers are
redeemed (Ephesians 2:13; Hebrews 9:14; l
Peter 1: 18-19; l John 1:7).
Communion
WE BELIEVE that Holy Communion, The
Lord’s Supper, is the sacrament given by the
Lord to commemorate the covenant
relationship between God and man, made
possible through the shed blood of Jesus
Christ (l Corinthians 10:16; 11: 23-30).
The New Birth and Eternal Life
WE BELIEVE that man’s first step toward
salvation is godly sorrow that worketh
repentance. It is necessary that all men be
born again, and when the new birth is
fulfilled, eternal life is produced (John 3:
3-5; l John 5: 11-12; II Corinthians 7:10).
Water Baptism
WE BELIEVE that baptism in water is a
direct commandment of our Lord and is for
believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of
the believer’s identification with Jesus
Christ in His death, burial and
resurrection. Scriptural mode, as found in
the New Testament, is by complete immersion,
calling upon the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ (Mark 16:16; Matthew 28: 19; Romans
6:4; Acts 8:36-39; Acts 10:47-48).
Baptism In The Holy Ghost
WE BELIEVE that all believers are
entitled to and should ardently expect and
receive the promise of the Father, the
Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to the
command of Jesus Christ. With this comes the
endowment of power for life and service and
the bestowment of gifts and their uses in
the work of the Ministry (Luke 24:49; Mark
16; 17; Acts 1:8). This experience is
distinct from and subsequent to the
experience of the new birth, salvation (Acts
8:12, 14-16; 9:17; 19: 1-6; l Corinthians
12: 1-31). The full consummation of the
Baptism of the Holy Spirit is evidenced by
the initial physical sign of speaking with
other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance
and by the subsequent manifestation of
spiritual power in public testimony and
service (Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; 10: 44-47; 19: 6;
l Corinthians 14: 1-4; 39-40).
Sanctification
WE BELIEVE that Scriptures teach a life
of sanctification and holiness without which
no man shall see the Lord. By the power of
the Holy Spirit we are able to obey the
command, “Be ye holy, for I am holy.” Entire
sanctification is the will of God for all
believers and should be earnestly pursued by
walking in obedience to God’s Word (Hebrews
12: 14; l Peter 1: 15-16; l Thessalonians 5:
23-24; l John 2:6).
Divine Healing
WE BELIEVE that healing for the physical
body is provided for in the atonement of
Jesus Christ and is the privilege of every
member of the body of Christ today. Healing
is wrought by the power of God through the
prayer of faith and/or by the laying of
hands (Matthew 8:17; Isaiah 53: 4-5; l Peter
2:24; James 5: 14-15; Psalms 103: 2-3; Mark
16: 18).
The Blessed Hope
WE BELIEVE Jesus is coming again to
gather all His saints to Heaven (l
Corinthians 15: 51-52; l Thessalonians 4:
16-17; II Thessalonians 2:1).
Hell and Eternal Retribution
WE BELIEVE the one who physically dies in
his sins without Christ is hopelessly and
eternally lost in the Lake of Fire, and
therefore, has no further opportunity of
hearing the gospel of repenting. The Lake of
Fire is literal. The terms “eternal” and
“everlasting” used in describing the
duration of the punishment of the damned in
the Lake of Fire, carry the same thought and
meaning of endless existence as used in
denoting the duration of joy and ecstasy of
saints in the presence of God (Hebrews 9:27;
Revelations 20: 10-15, 21:8).
