How’s Your Faith

You may or may not have given much thought about your faith life recently but as we study the Bible we become aware of the fact that we should. When we consider Jesus commanded us in Mark 11:22 to have faith in God and in 2 Corinthians 13:5 we are told to examine, test, or evaluate ourselves to see if we are really living in the faith, then we see it must be pretty important. Today I want to remind you that your faith in God is one of the most precious commodities you have in life. When you consider these four truths about faith, hopefully it will help you see how valuable your faith in God really is.

1)   You are saved by faith. Ephesians 2:8 “for by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God”.

Think about it, your eternal destination is determined by your faith in God.

2)   You are to live by faith. Hebrews 10:38, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, and Habakkuk 2:4 all tell us, “the just shall live by faith”.

3)   You can’t please God without faith. Hebrews 11:6 “for without faith, it is impossible to please God, for those who come to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”.

4)   You receive everything from God as a result of your faith. Mark 9:23 “Jesus said unto him, if you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes”. Matthew 9:29 “Then Jesus touched their eyes, saying: according to your faith be it done unto you”. Mark 5:34 “And Jesus said unto her, daughter, your faith has made you whole: go in peace, and be whole of your plague”.

My prayer for you is that you will see the value of your faith differently after considering these truths from God’s Word.
