GROW Leadership Blog Pt 2

In the last GROW Leadership Blog I left you with 5 important things that will help you in fulfilling God’s plan for your life. Fulfilling that plan and becoming the leader God wants you to become begins by you leading yourself. In this blog I want to leave you with some important thoughts concerning those steps.

1)  Daily Read God’s Word

But Jesus answered and said, “It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. – Matthew 4:4

Jesus is telling us, what food is to your natural life, the Word of God is to your spiritual life. In other words it is necessary for your spiritual health and growth.

Important Thought

: My attitude towards the Word of God will determine the place God holds in my daily life.

2)  Daily Meditate God’s Word

This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. – Joshua 1:8

Meditation has four main ingredients: Thinking, Envisioning, Saying and Doing.

Important Thought

: Meditation is the process of getting the Word of God in you but it also helps you see yourself in the Word.

3)  Daily Pray

There are many scriptures that exhort us to pray, consider these;

“Be devoted to prayer and keeping alert in it with thanksgiving.” – Colossians 4:2

“Pray continually.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:17

“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” – James 5:16

Important Thought

: Pray not to just get things from God but to know Him better and grow in your relationship with Him.

4)  Daily Share Your Faith

“He that wins souls is wise.” – Proverbs 11:30

Sharing your faith helps keep what God had done for you real and keeps you on fire for God.

Important Thought

: What’s real to you will be real through you.

5)  Be an Active Part of a Strong Local Church

“Neglect not the assembling of ourselves together, as the habit of some is, but exhorting one another: and so much more, as you see the day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:15

“From whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body, for the edifying of itself in love.” – Ephesians 4:16

Important Thought

: Great Churches have great committed people.

These are 5 important ingredients in leading yourself and in turn God making you into a leader.
