Wisdom for Living

In this blog, I want to talk about the importance of wisdom in our lives. Proverbs 4:7 tells us, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” The book of Proverbs is best known for its wisdom and teaches us how to live in this world in accordance with the will of God. So what is wisdom? Wisdom is the correct application of knowledge. It is knowing what to do with what you have learned.

I like to say it this way, Proverbs is full of wisdom, common sense, and practical advice for everyday living. There are many topics covered in Proverbs, so what I’d like to do is share a few of them with you that will help your life. With each topic, I’ll share a couple of verses and do so using the Message Bible.

2 Things That Must Change

In this blog, I want to talk about two important things that need to change in every believer’s life. These two things are our thoughts and words. Once we are saved, if we don’t change our thoughts and our words, not much else will change in our lives. As powerful as salvation is to our eternal being and destiny, if we don’t change these two important things, then not much else will change in our lives.

The Power of Being Forgiven

The Power of Being Forgiven

I want to share with you some important thoughts concerning being forgiven by God. God desires us to live in the power of being forgiven by Him.  1 John 3:21 says, Beloved, if our hearts condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. Knowing that God has really forgiven us, naturally produces a confidence in our hearts towards Him. We should understand that any sin we have repented of and asked God’s forgiveness for, no longer exists. To God, it is as if it has never happened. The Will of God Part 2

One of the most important subjects God want us to understand is His will. In this blog I want to pick up where I left off in Part 1 and look at four things that God’s Word tells us is His will for our lives.

Salvation

Salvation is part of God’s will and plan for your life! 1 Timothy 2:4 tells us, who will all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 2 Peter 3:9 tells us, God is not willing that any should be lost, but that all should come to repentance. Romans 10:13, tell us, for whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved. Whosoever would include anyone that wants Jesus to be their Lord. In John 6:37 Jesus said; …and him that comes to Me I will not reject.  To learn how to make Jesus your Lord, check out Our Need for God in the About Us section on the home page.
