5 Important Topics in Today’s Church

In this blog, I want to give you a few thoughts on 5 Important Topics in Today’s Church. I will only briefly cover each topic in this blog. For a more intensive study, we will link you to the messages that delve deeper into each topic.

  • Evangelism is about God’s mission to the world.

Evangelism is about helping people to see the good news of Jesus Christ and helping them to take steps to Him.

God wants to use each of us to reach the lost and build its kingdom.

We need to learn to draw people to Jesus, not push them away.

  • Culture is the attitudes and behavior that are characteristic of a particular social group.

It helps us to understand we are not called to change the culture but to reach the world.

We are not called to win the “culture war”, so to speak.

We can’t war with people while we’re trying to win them to Christ.

We have to get on board with Jesus and help as many others as we can do the same.

  • Doctrine means teaching or instruction that is divine or from God.

The reason doctrine is so important is that we know and understand God’s will by it.

Doctrine tells us what to believe in and how to live according to God’s will

Doctrine forms belief and affects our behavior or how we live

  • Leadership is casting the vision of people reaching their redemptive potential (Proverbs 29:18 AMP)

Leadership is influencing others in a positive way for a positive change; it is helping others see ministry is not just to happen to them but through them.

Leadership is serving others. (Mark 10:45 KJV)

  • Power for the church, for the believer, we should equate power with the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit was sent to give us power, making us able, capable witnesses.

Power is given to enable us to do God’s will and to live God’s way. Power is given for the flourishing of others.
